New Mini has been popular since it was launched back in 2001 and at that time, you could get a new Mini one for a touch over £10,000 on the road.
Since then, prices have risen and the cheapest Mini One these days is over £12,000 and indeed, you can pay up to £25,000 for your mini, if you opt for the convertible Cooper S and its rumored that the special editions being launched this year could be around £30,000 “has the world gone mad?”
So to use Mr. Majors (ill fated) words, Mini are “getting back to basics” with the launch of a new lead in Mini, which will be called the Mini ‘First’. Ok, not such an inspiring name, as Citroen already make a van called a ‘First’, but I guess it does say what place it holds in the price line up.
Priced from £10,950, the ‘First’ will have a 1.4 petrol engine which produces 75bhp and promises to return an average fuel consumption of 53.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 128g/km and will only be available as a 3dr hatch.
