Following the launch of the very impressive new Mondeo in mid 2007, it’s going to be another big 12 months for Ford Motor Company as by the end of the year, they will have the most modern and latest released range of cars of any manufacturer.
Ford have announced some really exciting products including a new “totally” Ford 4×4 SUV named Kuga, and a replacement for pretty much the best little car of them all, the Fiesta. Refreshed Focus is to get a jewel in the crown with the launch of the mega powerful (and long awaited) RS Focus. Turn of the year is due to give us all new KA as well, which will share a floor-pan with the new Fiat 500, although floor-pan upwards, it’s all different, it’s all Ford.
David Bussey, Managing Director of Norfolk based Ford Main Dealer, Busseys said “in 2008 we have already seen the successful launch of the refreshed Ford Focus, but still have much to look forward to with Ford’s new 4×4 Kuga SUV due in June, brand new Fiesta in September the much awaited all new KA somewhere around the end of the year and whilst is not going to be in big numbers, we should also see the Focus RS by December, and that’s rumoured to produce around 300bhp”
“Amazingly that’s going to mean Ford will have the youngest model line up of any manufacturer, with our oldest model after Fusion being S-Max and that was only released in 2006” “Speaking as a dealer and not a manufacturer, we’ve seen huge a huge upsurge in interest in everything we are selling” “both new Mondeo and refreshed Focus have performed above our expectations, so with the Kuga and Fiesta to come in the next few months, it certainly looks like 2008 is going to be a hectic year for us”.
Ford had come in for criticism by many after producing really radical looking cars like original Focus and KA, with later introductions being considered as fairly bland by many. Despite that, one thing which never changed and that was the cars ability to impress behind the wheel and it’s that which has kept Ford way up there as the most popular brand in the country in both in the retail and fleet markets.
We have seen pictures of the new cars and Kuga is going to be a real eyeful, whilst new Fiesta is just gorgeous and KA is going to bring the original KA concept bang up to date and Ford will hope they have done enough to move up your shopping list and do you know what? I think for many, they might just have jumped right to the top.
