Yes, that’s the claim made for a pair of Michelin Agilis van tyres that were fitted to a Citroen Relay van operated by a courier based in Cumbria.
Bryan Davidson had the tyres fitted to the rear axle of his 2004 Citroen Relay LWB High Roof van by a local tyre company and since then they’ve clocked up a massive 353,000 miles with Mr Davidson saying ‘I am amazed by the mileage achieved and there was actually still a reasonable amount of tread-life left in the tyres. The only reason I changed them was that I got a puncture in the left rear and decided to change the pair for peace-of-mind.
The 215/75 R 16C Michelin Agilis also did incredibly well on the front of the vehicle, lasting for 120,000 miles, which is still stunning performance and I guess who ever drives this vehicle would be in good company with someone like Jenson Button, who also seems to make tyres his last.
So whilst the tyres did amazingly well, perhaps it’s Mr Davidson or whoever drives this van around Europe that should be congratulated, because if we get 30,000 out of a set of tyres we think we are doing well, so its not just the rubber, but Mr Smooth behind the wheel that we take our hats off to.
