Saabs owner Spyker Cars have managed to resume production of Saabs again following a partnership deal they have signed with Chinese vehicle manufacturer the Hawtai Motor Group.
Production at the Trollhättan factory in Sweden had halted in April over disputes with suppliers over the doubt that the company had the ability to pay its bills.
Following a deal that involved Hawtai Motor Group taking a 29% share in Spyker Cars, they have invested £110 million into the business which has enabled manufacturing to resume.
This partnership should make really good sense for both sides as it will see them share technology with each other and of course, be a way for Saab to enter the rapidly growing Chinese market.
After the traumatic few years Saab has endured, it would be good to see them get some stability at last and the potential if this deal if all goes to plan, it should see them secure their long term future. Now there’s a good news story.
