Earlier on in the year we got the chance to hand over six brand new Ford Focuses to CompKey Healthcare. Humphrey (Managing Director) shared his the story of how CompKey Healthcare came to be and we were so inspired by it that we wanted to share it with you!
Humpheys Story
Humphreys natural ability to care for people started when he was very young as he had to step up and be the main carer for his dear Grandfather when he was just a teenager in Zimbabwe.
He had a natural ability to take charge and look after people in such a caring natural way. Although caring came naturally to Humphrey, he chose to pursue a teaching career as that seemed like the right thing to do to support his family. He fully qualified as a teacher and taught for many years until it became too dangerous to continue to live in his home country.
After moving to the UK he tried to continue with his teaching but hit lots of closed doors along the way. His qualifications were not recognised here so he had to enrol in a University to re-qualify as a teacher only to find after 18 months the University had enrolled him on the incorrect course, meaning he still couldn’t continue teaching.
This was the turning point for Humphrey to return to what he knew best, caring. For a few years he worked in the home care industry assisting in growing a small business into a lucrative company and decided to go it alone and set up the CompKey brand. He now employs over 30 carers who specialise in providing individual compassionate care in the home so people can remain where they want to be and Humphrey’s team can be there 24/7 if needed. We were honored to be able to provide 6 brand new Ford Focuses, enabling the employees at CompKey to have reliable and comfortable new cars to get to their patients efficiently.
We also arranged sign writing by Chris Wright Design who assisted with marketing and design of the logo on the new vehicles. Take a look at our gallery below of the new vehicles!
